Sealegs International Sign New India Distributor

Sealegs International today announce they have expanded their distribution network through the presence of ITUS in Pune, India. Sealegs has officially agreed to dealership terms with ITUS Sports and Safety Pvt Ltd (ITUS) for the Indian market after the successful promotion of it’s boats and recent 6.1m Sealegs RIB sale to the Tamil Nadu Coastguard.

New Zealand Trade Commissioner Ralph Hays, and Sealegs CEO David McKee Wright were present for the ceremonial launch event of the 6.1m Sealegs Rescue boat at the InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram last Thursday 6th June. Sealegs took the opportunity to formalise the relationship with ITUS following this.

The benefits afforded by Sealegs amphibious technology are well suited to the vast Indian coastline which has extremely limited coastline infrastructure to support the launch, retrieval and maintenance of existing fleets of vessels. The ability for Sealegs to negotiate the exposed beaches rapid launch and retrieval is a valuable addition to coastguard and coastal security operations.

Speaking from Chennai, Mr. McKee Wright said “Sealegs amphibious capacity will boost the operational capability of the Tamil Nadu Government and ensure faster response time to Coastal Rescue and Security”

ITUS plans to build the recent success through its on-going service and maintenance contracts to ensure Sealegs are effectively deployed and operated for maximum efficiency and longevity.
