Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is a sub-section of Australia’s Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing within the Government of Queensland. It is primarily involved with the development and maintenance of protected areas within Queensland, with the goal ofpermanent preservation of the area's natural condition and includes national parks, marine parks and world heritage areas.

To help staff gain easier and safer access to the islands they are charged with, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service procured a 7.1m Sealegs RIB in 2011.

The Sealegs had a custom cabin and shelter designed and built to provide additional protection from both sun and water to employees and equipment onboard. The Sealegs has been hugely successful in its role in conservation and is used on a daily basis.
