Extended Run Time (XRT)

Description:

Extended Run Time (XRT) is now optional on all models of Sealegs Amphibious Marine Craft.  It is primarily a commercial upgrade which increases the on land run time from 10 minutes to 30 minutes of continuous operation every hour, at ambient temperatures up to 40?C.  Sealegs product engineers have designed the fitment of additional components to the onboard 24hp Honda Twin Cylinder 4 Stroke, all of which have been extensively field tested in harsh marine environments.  These lightweight and durable components offer the follow benefits over standard Sealegs models:

  • Hydraulic Oil Cooler – Coated aluminium for high performance and corrosion resistance
  • Hydraulic Hot Flush Valve – With anodised aluminium cartridge valve to send hot transmission oil to the oil tank, replenishing it with cooler, filtered oil. This ensures high performance and reliability.
  • Fan Assisted Hydraulic Oil Cooling- An additional high performance fan is coupled to the hydraulic oil cooler. Also assists in reducing  engine box air temperature.
  • Improved thermal transfer stainless steel exhaust muffler - Reduces engine box temperature by isolating the hottest component in the boat.
  • Custom exhaust shroud- Removes heat from the engine and exhaust efficiently via a ducted channel to direct hot air out of the engine box while serving as a radiation shield.
  • Over Temperature Alarm- Warns if the system starts to overheat. A warning buzzer will sound to indicate to the operator that the boat should be slowed down, or stopped allowing the system to cool down. This should only happen in extreme situations

The ability of XRT to significantly increase the range of our amphibious craft on land is hugely beneficial for transporting a larger payloads to locations which are considerable distance from the coastline.  The added benefit of being prepared for a large variety of situations which may be encountered when in unknown destinations makes this a valuable upgrade for all first response and commercial users.
