Sealegs Takes $1M Worth of Orders at 2007 Southampton Boat Show

Sealegs International Limited has today announced that its UK reseller has confirmed an order of more than 15 amphibious boats, representing in excess of $1,000,000.00 in forward revenue.

The recent addition to the burgeoning Sealegs order book, the result of strong demand from the recent Southampton boat show, takes the current total number of amphibious boats on order to over 100.

Chief Executive Officer David McKee Wright said “It’s pleasing to see sales in the UK growing at a rate exceeding 50% per annum. The UK market has accepted the amphibious boat concept and being here listening to what potential customers have to say about Sealegs is extremely encouraging.”

Managing Director of Sealegs’ UK distributor, Amphibious (UK) Ltd, Nick Fox says “the response to the release of the new Sealegs 7.1m model has been much anticipated by UK customers and now with the boat’s debut in New Zealand, sales have been even better than expected.”

“In fact several 7.1m boats have been sold here, without having one on display. I don’t know of any other boat in the world that could achieve that.”

Sealegs also recently announced the new 7.1m model will attempt to set a world record for the fastest crossing of Cook Strait by an amphibious craft next month.
