Sealegs Appoints India Distributor
Sealegs Corporation (NZX:SLG) today announced the appointment of New Wave Distributors Private Limited (New Wave) as the official distributor for Sealegs amphibious boats in India and its Union Territories.
India is a new and emerging market for recreation boating and poised for significant growth. New Wave, one of the largest boat dealers in India, has a history of partnering with market leaders right across the boating range from kayaks through to luxury yachts. The company has built a world-class product portfolio, representing a number of leading brands such as Azimut, Grady White, Larson and Sea Doo PWC.
The contract begins in February 2009 with the commencement of the Mumbai International Boat Show.
New Wave has made an initial purchase of two boats, and has committed to purchasing at least seven within the next twelve months.
Sealegs CEO David McKee Wright said “New Wave has pan-India presence and is very excited to become the distributor for the innovative Sealegs product range. The company sees Sealegs as having tremendous potential in providing a unique and exciting experience, allowing customers increased accessibility in waterfront areas across India.”
Sealegs has now appointed eleven international distributors throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Canada as it continues to expand into new export markets and is actively looking for further resellers globally.
This month Sealegs amphibious boats will be unveiled for the first time in the United States, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show beginning 30th October 2008.
