Sealegs Patented Amphibious Technology is internationally field proven with over 250 amphibious craft in use worldwide. This means that there are Sealegs amphibious marine craft in operation every second of the day. After 4 years of million dollar research and development and another four years of sales and production, the Sealegs system is a highly developed, refined and rugged solution.
Our amphibious technology is designed in-house by a team of product engineers and then full 3D CAD drawings and modelling are undertaken to produce stress analyzed production componentry via castings and CAM.
The Sealegs Patented Amphibious Technology consists of a completed hydraulic system comprising of multiple and carefully designed and/or constructed componentry.
The Sealegs system comprises of;
- 16hp or 24hp Inboard Honda engine
- Inboard engine bed and engine box
- Bell housing, torque coupler
- Throttle/choke control and cable
- Hydraulic transmission pump and remote hydraulic joystick
- Tandem hydraulic gear pump
- Hydraulic manifold block with valves
- Hydraulic control solenoids
- Hydraulic flow dividers
- Control electrics
- Three custom marine lift cylinders
- Front and rear alloy legs/bushes/brackets
- Two marinised hydraulic motors
- Custom stainless steel hubs
- Alloy rims and ATV tyres
- Hydraulic tank
- Filters
- Hydraulic hoses and stainless steel fittings
The complete Sealegs amphibious system weighs approximately 150Kg and the weight distribution is spread longitudinally and evenly through the boat, maintaining and in most cases improving the “donor” boats characteristics. Additional hull strength is designed in to create a box/girder chassis to take the additional structural requirements of three-point loading on land.
All these design requirements are part of the licensing program when incorporating the Sealegs amphibious system into a boat design. Contact us for further licensing information at
